JEE (Main) — Overview, Eligibility & Syllabus
JEE (Main) is the national engineering entrance conducted by the NTA for admission to B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Plan programmes at the NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded technical institutions. It is held in multiple sessions in computer-based mode, and a qualifying rank is also the gateway to JEE (Advanced).
Eligibility
Open to candidates who have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or a technical vocational subject. Refer to the current NTA bulletin for the year-of-passing window and category relaxations.
Syllabus overview
Covers Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from the NCERT Class 11 and 12 syllabus, with JEE's characteristic emphasis on problem solving. EntrancePrep's PCM notes, formula sheets and PYQs follow the same chapter structure.
