NIFT (UG) — Overview, Eligibility & Syllabus
2026 cycle Verified 4 November 2026
Overview
The NIFT entrance is conducted for admission to undergraduate design and fashion-technology programmes (B.Des and B.F.Tech) at the National Institute of Fashion Technology campuses. Selection combines a written test with a situation/creative-ability round and, for some programmes, a personal interview.
Eligibility
B.Des applicants typically need a Class 12 pass in any stream; B.F.Tech applicants need Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Age limits apply — refer to the current NIFT prospectus.
Syllabus overview
NIFT assesses quantitative ability, communication, general knowledge, creative aptitude and observation rather than the NCERT science syllabus, so it sits outside EntrancePrep's core NCERT study tree. This page is provided for reference.
